A diverse local museum with exhibits spanning the natural sciences, visual and performing arts. In addition to a display on the natural history of the desert, the grounds contain a modern art collection with works by Giacometti, Henry Moore, and Helen Frankenthaler. The museum also features collections donated by the late actors William Holden and George Montgomery.

Located in a 1926 adobe house, the Coachella Valley Museum & Cultural Center displays Native American artifacts and other relics from early western American history. Dioramas featured in the museum explain the growth of industry in the area and the development of the desert's water system.
